Hi! It’s the week ahead, and thought they may be little more than individual cameos, it seems we have both Ben and Callum this week!
Mon 2nd Aug – Rob Gittins
No Ballum spoilers
Tues 3rd Aug – Rob Gittins
After police intervention, Nancy and Frankie are in a police cell. The forced time together allows the sisters to open up and talk through things, especially the situation with Zack. Callum appears to tell Frankie and Nancy they are being let out with no further action.
Thurs 5th Aug – Rebekah Harrison
Ben asks for Peter’s help as he fears that Lola’s commitment to Isaac – who still won’t see her – is adversely affecting Lexi. Peter suggests to Lola that she should stay away from Isaac for Lexi’s sake, but Lola refuses to listen.
Fri 6th Aug – Steve Casey
Ben gives Lola a hard time for missing Lexi’s swimming lesson. Sheree also urges Lola to see that it’s time to let Isaac go, so she agrees to stop visiting him.
Callum, involved with the Carters? Pinch me! Frankie and Nancy are thrown into a cell after kicking off at the Albert, so it makes me wonder whether Callum’s there and having to be the one to arrest them, just like he had to arrest Frankie at Ruby’s club a few months ago. Being in a public place with witnesses seems to be the only time Callum carries out his duties, after all.
However, even if he’s not present for the arrest, it looks like he’s there for their release from custody. Which means our first Callum and Nancy interaction! I’ve been hoping for one due to Callum’s long history with the Carters and the fact that he’d have seen Nancy a lot growing up. And of course, we haven’t seen a Callum and Frankie scene since the proposal episode, so I’m looking forward to that too!
It’s interesting (at least to me) to note that this week of episodes has been directed by just one director – last week it was three, and I could be wrong but this may be an indication of their use of bubbles on set. Since September the number of directors per week have jumped around a little, going from three to two, back to three, and on occasion back to one. It makes me wonder if going down to one allows for more mixing of actors.
Anyway, Callum still operating as a police officer obviously means he’s not been pulled up on his unauthorised search for Simon’s name on the system – or the fact that could connect him to the attack on Simon. Looks like this is on the backburner still.
Back to Ben on Thursday, continuing on from his scene with Lola last week. He’s so concerned about Lola and in turn Lexi that he turns to… Peter. Why anyone would go to Peter for anything is beyond me, but Ben must be truly desperate and maybe in that desperation has come to the conclusion that Peter might be someone Lola listens to. Maybe Peter’s learned a lesson after Lola ripped into him for his attitude towards Isaac, and will actually speak some sense. But whether he does or not, Lola refuses to listen anyway. It’s only on Friday when she concedes – after Ben has a go at her for missing Lexi’s swimming lesson. I admire her for the way she’s tried so hard to stick by Isaac; but with him refusing to see her, I think she’s felt she’s had to work harder to prove her commitment and that’s starting to be at the expense of everything else. It’s one of those stories I think where there are no bad guys, just people trying to do what they think is best.
Anyway, onto news – and lots of content from Max’s charity football match in Woking last Sunday! If you missed it, you can watch the match on YouTube here. Also some lovely pics from the day here, here and here!
Max must have enjoyed himself as he’s playing another match in Horley on the 15th August, for the Mark Lay Foundation. Get tickets here!
