Hey all! It’s the week ahead… and there’s not much there for us spoiler wise. Looks like they may be mostly resting Ballum after their gorgeous proposal ep, but I’ve put a few spoilers in where they might show or possibly get mentioned.

Jack is told that he’s not allowed to join the search for Denise. Isaac offers to call Callum to see if he can help.
As you can see… it’s sparse! In current circumstances it’s less likely for them to appear when they’re not strictly needed, like when they were extras at Bex’s party the episode after Callum’s coming out, or when Ben was at Sharon’s party the episode Mel died. But I still wonder if they have anything to say about Jay and Honey, if Phil has found out – maybe that means they know now too. It seems obvious they would back Jay, though.
Maybe Phil will mention the engagement if he’s talking to Billy or Jay, as they were both there on Thursday. Or maybe we’ll see engagement cards on the shelves in Mitchell Manor, including the one we know Lola got for them on Friday.
On Thursday Kathy’s running about looking for Ian still; possibly too distracted to comment on her son getting engaged, although one would hope that she maybe makes a passing remark to Phil when she asks him to help her find Ian. He refuses to help, even though he was screaming Ian’s name when he couldn’t find him the episode Ian hopped on the tube and disappeared. I don’t think Ian is aware of Phil’s involvement, or that he’s the one who tried to bash his head in, so that’s still to come out at some point.
And on Friday, we actually do have a good chance of seeing Callum as Isaac suggests they go to him for help to find Denise, as she’s gone missing and Jack’s not allowed to help find her, for some reason. Having Callum as a neighbour is handy after all, Isaac! I can’t see Callum not agreeing to help, so I think it’s quite likely we’ll see him. But I wonder how far his involvement will go – seems like they might be bringing him in for a reason, or is that just me? Will he find anything?
And on the news front, we had quite a bit of Max and Tony content this week, promoting the proposal episode. They popped up on The One Show on Wednesday via Zoom, and were asked about Ballum, their auditions for EastEnders… and if they have any plans to propose in real life. I don’t know how anyone can answer that question like that but they handled it well.
Tony was doing the interview rounds on Thursday regarding the proposal, for both Digital Spy and Metro. In both cases they split the interview in two; one to go out before the episode and one to go out after. So here’s Metro’s before and after, and Digital Spy’s before and after! I’m sure you all also saw the gorgeous promo pics that came out the night before, and Max’s lovely post episode tweet.
Rose mentioned Ben and Callum in an interview with Inside Soap, where she hopes Frankie and Callum will continue their friendship and that they bring a softness out in each other, and then commenting on Ben’s different experience of deafness to Frankie’s.
Max has been sharing this fundraiser for his friend Terry, who’s battling Covid in Mexico. Other EE castmates have also shared it, including Tony – and they’re hoping to get to 100k in the next week. Donate if you can!
And finally… I went off on Photoshop again and made some more Ballum wallpapers/lockscreens, which of course anyone’s totally welcome to use. I’m currently using the Callum one as mine!
